Honduras – Montecillo

This coffee has been grown and processed by an organization of small producers, a group of families from the coffee-growing region of Copán in Honduras. This family exporter was founded in the early 90s and is located in the Montecillos Mountain Range, Otatala, in the department of Intubuca.

They are focused on organic and fair trade specialty coffee. They also have Biolatina and Fairtrade certifications and have a production capacity of 1,700 tons.

They can process coffee in both wet and natural mills, help with the negotiation of sales to the fair or organic market, and provide financial support to the partners and training.

The Intubuca coffee region is located in the western part of Honduras, its population is around 250 thousand inhabitants and this region benefits many families that grow Arabica coffee of the Catuaí, Icatú, Lempira, and Parainema varietals.

The coffee that you are about to enjoy has been washed between 120 and 143 hours, in a controlled manner, and has gone through aerobic fermentation so that oxygen favors the creation of acetic acids, which are responsible for sour flavors.

Thanks to its medium roast, sweet and fruity aromas will stand out, achieving a velvety and creamy body, with sweet notes, bright acidity, and notes of peach.

It is ideal for both filter and Italian or portafilter preparations.
