This farm was acquired in 2010 by Max Perez and together with several families, they saw the opportunity to achieve their dreams in the Acatenago region. Max was born and raised among coffee plantations, so it was only a matter of time before he got his own.

His business idea is to promote the development of a specialty coffee farm that uses tradition and innovation to provide his customers with incredible coffees while creating a positive impact on society.

The region was not chosen at random, either. The Acatenago Valley has a unique ground and landscape. With two volcanoes crowning a mineral-rich soil and giving coffee plantations the care they need, the combination of passion and location couldn’t be better.

With the equipment they needed and the family experience they had acquired, it was easy for them to decide which varieties of coffee to plant, which trees would provide better shade, and what other technical needs they would have to address.

From the selection of the seeds to plant, every detail is carefully supervised to guarantee the success of this project.

A coffee plantation is a long-term investment, so taking care of the process step is crucial. All coffees are hand-picked and processed following the best method chosen. In this case we have a fully washed process, which gives a very clean, balanced and sweet cup.

The quality of the coffees at Finca La Hermosa has won international awards such as The Cup of Excellence in 2013 among others.

This coffee is ideal for preparation in an Italian coffee maker or espresso machine.
