This coffee has been cultivated in the region of Huila, by Hertson Bernal @hertsonbernaljimenez, a very ambitious young producer who continues with the family business with great success.

Finca La Esperanza is located at about 1500 meters above sea level and the natural process of long exposure of the beans is practised there. Thanks to this process, the pH of the coffee is better controlled to avoid excessive fermentation. This allows us to discover intense aromas of fruity rum and sweet notes that will leave no one indifferent. Thanks to its desire to improve, Hertson received recognition for its work for the 2019-20 harvest with a score of 92 points  in the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) for its exotic and liqueur beans.

The Caturra coffee bean is distinguished by its acidity and low to medium body. It has less clarity and sweetness than its parent, Bourbon. Coffee plantations of this bean were first developed in Brazil, and these small trees can be found in Colombia, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.

This coffee has a very complex profile, with a variety of liquorice aromas, with an intense sweetness of dark caramel, apple, some macadamia nut, and citrus notes such as mandarin.

It will be ideal for preparation as a filter, cold brew (filter with cold maceration), and espresso.
